Instructions for Becoming a Tester - Week of May 1, 2005

PLEASE BE AWARE THAT THIS APPLICATION IS CURRENTLY UNDER DEVELOPMENT.
THE FINAL RELEASE WILL BE AVAILABLE AUGUST 2005.
IF YOU INSTALL THIS APPLICATION, I WILL CONTACT YOU TO OBTAIN YOUR FEEDBACK.

Development is due to complete in August, 2005. At that time, an installation wizard will be available to simplify this process. You have to follow the below instructions exactly to get this baby to work.

For Firefox:
  1. Set up an account:
    Click here to create a new account on my server


  2. Add 3 mini tools to your browser:
    Annozilla GoodNotes version
    XPointer
    Annotation service
    and click here if you have any specific questions about installation.


  3. Connect to the server within your browser:
    * Go to the menu: Tools: Extensions: Annozilla. Click on the "options" box.
    * Set up a "New" server within "Server Options" by typing "http://anno.nohea.com/annotate" and the username and password you created in step 1. The same URL should be used for "Default post server" at the bottom.
    * For "Viewing options" choose "View annotation bodies" radio button "...in the sidebar" and checkbox "Insert icons in the document window"
    * For "General options" type the EXACT first and last name you signed up with as "author" (e.g. christina Goodness)


  4. Start her up:
    When you re-open your browser, Crtl+Z if you have Firefox. You can also go through the Firefox menu: View, Sidebar, Annozilla. This will load up the sidebar.
    Go to http://www.yahoo.com, and then at the top of the sidebar, press "Load annotations for this page". This should show you some of the notes that have been left on this page in the top part of the sidebar. When you double-click on the note title, the text should appear in the bottom part of the sidebar.
